Planned Itinerary: DAY 1. CITY OF ORIGIN – HAVANA Arrival. Welcome to Cuba. Transfer to the hotel and, depending on your flight time, free time. In the late afternoon, to welcome you back, we will include a transfer in a classic car to the San Carlos Fortress, passing along the Malecón, where you will attend the cannon firing ceremony (entrance included). Return to the hotel (by coach or other vehicles). Overnight stay. DAY 2. HAVANA This morning, we include a 4-hour tour. We will explore Colonial Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Revolution Square, and the University. We will visit the Havana Club Rum Museum. We will also take a boat trip across the bay to Regla to see the Church of Our Lady of Regla, a place of great devotion where there is a strong syncretism between Catholicism and Afro-Cuban traditions. Will you buy flowers and have your palm read by a daughter of Ochun? After lunch, we'll head to the Callejón del Chorro area, a district with numerous paladares (private restaurants) where you can stroll and have lunch. Free afternoon. Overnight stay. DAY 3. HAVANA – GUAMÁ – PUNTA PERDIZ – GIRÓN – CIENFUEGOS We'll depart Havana for the south of the island, enjoying its beautiful tropical landscapes. Arrival in GUAMÁ, where we'll visit the crocodile farm and take a boat trip to admire this area, a designated National Park. In the Taíno village, we'll learn more about the population that existed before the arrival of the Europeans. We continue along the Caribbean coast. Bring your swimsuit; we'll have time in PUNTA PERDIZ, where we'll have lunch. You can swim, explore the cenotes, or snorkel. Afterward, in GIRON, we'll visit the Playa Girón Museum, which tells the story of the Bay of Pigs invasion and the revolution. Continue to Cienfuegos, the Pearl of the South, a charming colonial city. We'll stroll through its French Neoclassical colonial streets. Dinner included. Overnight stay. DAY 4. CIENFUEGOS – TRINIDAD Just under 100 kilometers separate us from Trinidad. Upon arrival, we'll visit the most beautiful and best-preserved colonial city in Cuba, a true open-air museum, declared a World Heritage Site. After the visit, we'll explore the Santería Yemayá temple, dedicated to the Orisha (God) of the Sea, with its offerings of fruit, water, and stones. A Santero will explain this religion and its beliefs. After the visit and lunch (included), we'll check into our resort hotel in Playa Ancón. You'll have the afternoon free to enjoy the Caribbean Sea on this magnificent beach, or—if you prefer—to explore Trinidad on your own. In the evening, we'll transfer you to the cathedral so you can enjoy the music and its small restaurants with Cuban music. Dinner included. Overnight stay. DAY 5. TRINIDAD – VALLEY OF THE SUGAR MILLS – CAMAGÜEY Our day is filled with beautiful landscapes and unforgettable experiences. By coach, we travel to the VALLEY OF THE SUGAR MILLS, where we will visit the old San Isidro de los Destiladeros sugar factory, the best preserved in the area. There, you will learn about the history of sugar production and slavery. We continue to MANACA IZNAGA, in the heart of the sugar-producing region that gave rise to Trinidad's prosperity. We then proceed to SANCTI SPIRITUS, a charming little colonial town not yet visited by tourists, where we will have time for a stroll and lunch will be included. We continue through the center of the island to CAMAGÜEY. Arrival in the country's third-largest city, considered the art capital and known for its vibrant nightlife. Overnight stay. DAY 6. CAMAGÜEY – GUÁIMARO – BAYAMO – SANTIAGO DE CUBA Morning visit to the grand historic center of CAMAGÜEY with its numerous theaters, plazas, alleyways, and churches. We continue our route with a brief stop in GUÁIMARO, where Cuba's first constitution was approved and the emancipation of slaves was demanded. Arrival in BAYAMO, a picturesque small colonial town where we can stroll around and watch schoolchildren practicing at the chess academy. Lunch included. We continue to SANTIAGO DE CUBA, arriving in the late afternoon. In the evening, we will visit the Casa de la Trova, a meeting place for lovers of Cuban music, with its live performances. Overnight stay. DAY 7. SANTIAGO DE CUBA We include a visit to SANTIAGO, Cuba's second-largest city, a city of contrasts, the capital of son and the revolution. 20 km from the city, nestled in the mountains, we'll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre. You'll be struck by the veneration for the patron saint of Cuba. Afterward, we'll go to the Santa Iffigenia Cemetery, where Fidel Castro and José Martí are buried. En route, we'll see the Bacardi Rum Factory and then visit El Morro Castle, an impregnable citadel atop a promontory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which houses an interesting Pirate Museum. Lunch is included. Free time in the afternoon in Santiago. Dinner is included at the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 8. SANTIAGO DE CUBA – HOLGUÍN – GUARDALAVACA We travel through beautiful tropical hills toward the north coast. A stroll through the tranquil center of Holguín before continuing to Guardalavaca, where we visit the Chorro de Maita Archaeological Park, which protects the remains of an indigenous village and cemetery with the remains of 62 human skeletons, and the Taíno Village, which recreates scenes of how the indigenous people lived. We explore Bariay Bay, in a magnificent scenic setting. Lunch included. Free afternoon at the resort next to the beautiful beaches of Guardalavaca. Dinner included at the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 9. GUARDALAVACA – LA REDONDA LAGOON – CAYO COCO We travel west along the island. Arrival at La Redonda Lagoon, where we will enjoy a pleasant one-hour boat trip through the mangroves, foliage-covered tributaries, and small inland lakes. Lunch included. Afterward, spectacular scenery awaits on the road that crosses the sea to Cayo Coco. Arrival mid-afternoon. Dinner included. Overnight stay. DAY 10. CAYO COCO – REMEDIOS Free morning to enjoy the beach. After lunch (included), we will depart for Yaguajay, where the Camilo Cienfuegos Museum-Cemetery is located. Overnight in Remedios, one of the most beautiful colonial towns in Cuba. Dinner included. Accommodation. DAY 11. REMEDIOS – SUGAR MILL – SANTA CLARA – HAVANA Just outside Remedios, we will visit the former Marcelo Salado Sugar Mill, a former sugar refinery closed after the fall of the USSR, now a museum that shows us how traditional sugar production was done. We include a 20-minute ride on an old steam train (if it is running). Afterward, we travel to Santa Clara and visit the Constantino Pérez cigar factory (Montecristo and Partagas cigars). After lunch (included), we will visit the Che Guevara Mausoleum. Return to Havana. Arrival around 7:00 PM. Accommodation. DAY 12. HAVANA – CITY OF ORIGIN After breakfast, transfer to the airport to return to your city of origin, if the service has been contracted by us.
