Cold dinner in your cabin, overnight on board. Accommodation. DAY 2. LUXOR – ESNA – EDFU (FULL BOARD) Breakfast. We will depart with our guide to visit the Valley of the Kings, an immense city of the dead where we will find magnificent tombs sculpted into the rock, meticulously decorated, and filled with treasures for the afterlife of generations of pharaohs. We continue with a visit to the Temple of Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. The Temple blends seamlessly with the steep limestone cliffs that surround it, as if nature itself had built this extraordinary monument. We will also have the opportunity to admire the Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greece as the "enchanting voices of dawn," as many travelers claimed to hear them "sing." Legend tells of Memnon, a hero of Greek mythology, who died in battle. His mother, Eos, goddess of the dawn, sent the winds to collect her beloved son's body, while she mourned and wept for her loss. According to many visitors, her tears can still be seen each morning in the form of dewdrops. We will continue with a visit to the Temple of Karnak, built over more than a thousand years by generations of pharaohs. The Hypostyle Hall is an incredible "forest" of giant pillars that covers an area larger than Notre Dame Cathedral. Next, we visit the Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun. Return to the ship. Lunch and free time. We will pass through the Esna Lock on our way to Edfu. Dinner on board. Overnight stay. DAY 3. EDFU – KOM OMBO – ASWAN (FULL BOARD) Breakfast and departure by horse-drawn carriage to visit the Temple of Edfu, the largest and best-preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the cruise ship for lunch. Continue to Kom Ombo to visit the temple dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek. Return to the cruise ship to enjoy "Egyptian Night," where you will have the opportunity to wear traditional Egyptian clothing, "galabeyas." Dinner will consist of a lavish buffet of Egyptian specialties accompanied by oriental music. Dinner on board. Overnight stay. DAY 4. ASWAN – ABU SIMBEL – ASWAN (FULL BOARD) After collecting our picnic breakfast, we will depart by road for Abu Simbel, located 280 km from Aswan. We will visit the two spectacular temples, considered the largest, most complete, and most magnificent in all of Egypt. Their construction was ordered by Ramses II in the 13th century BC. Humanity's effort to save them was admirable, for with the construction of the Aswan Dam and the formation of the gigantic Lake Nasser, they would have been submerged. Thus, modern civil architecture was placed at the service of the ancient culture, and with the collaboration of 48 countries coordinated by UNESCO, the temples were moved stone by stone to their new location. A ray of light pierces the darkness of the great temple of Abu Simbel at dawn. It illuminates the statue of Ramses II, that of the god Amun, and that of Ra, the sun god. Only Ptah, the deity of darkness, remains in shadow. The phenomenon is repeated only twice a year, on October 22nd and February 22nd, two significant days in the worship of the ancient Egyptians, who perhaps celebrated the pharaoh's birthday and coronation. We will return to our ship in Aswan for lunch. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a ride on a felucca, a traditional sailing boat of the region, to Elephantine Island, home to Lord Kitchener's Botanical Garden and the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Dinner on board. Overnight stay. DAY 5. ASWAN – CAIRO Breakfast. We depart by motorboat to Agilka Island, where we will visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple. We continue our visit to the granite quarries, where the ancient Egyptians obtained most of the stones to build the pyramids and temples, and we will be able to see the Unfinished Obelisk. At the scheduled time, transfer to Aswan Airport for our scheduled flight to Cairo. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 6. CAIRO (HALF BOARD) Breakfast. We will depart with our Egyptologist guide to visit the Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving pyramids of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They are one of the world's greatest tourist attractions, always surprising and inspiring. Optionally, we suggest entering the interior of the Pyramids. We will continue with a visit to the Temple of the Sphinx, a figure shrouded in mystery, legend, and history. We will enjoy lunch at the 9 Pyramids Lounge restaurant, with spectacular views of the pyramids. We then proceed to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities (from May 1st, we will visit the New Grand Museum instead of the Old). Return to the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 7. CAIRO Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with the possibility of enjoying optional excursions visiting the Saqqara necropolis, the Citadel, and the Coptic Quarter. Overnight stay. DAY 8. CAIRO – HOME CITY Breakfast. At the scheduled time, transfer to Cairo Airport for your return flight to your home city.
