Planned Itinerary: DAY 1. CITY OF ORIGIN – CHIHUAHUA Welcome to Mexico! Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Our guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to take you to visit: the Pancho Villa Museum, the Cathedral, the Quinta Gameros Museum, the Government Palace, and historic residential areas. Overnight stay. DAY 2. CHIHUAHUA – CREEL After breakfast, we will depart amidst beautiful mountain and forest landscapes, passing through Mennonite villages. We have 260 km to reach Creel. We are in a magical town with a vibrant tourist scene, considered the gateway to the Copper Canyon. We include a tour visiting Lake Arareko, the Old Mission of San Ignacio, caves still inhabited by the Tarahumara people, and the rock formations of the Valley of Mushrooms and Frogs. Overnight stay. DAY 3. CREEL – DIVISADERO Today we travel 130 km by road through stunning scenery. We include a tour to Piedra Volada, an adventure park, a suspension bridge, and viewpoints. The adventure park offers various activities such as a cable car, zip line, zip rider, ATV and bicycle rentals, and guided hikes led by the Tarahumara people. These activities are not included (tickets are sold at the park's ticket booth). Lunch is included. After lunch, enjoy a guided hike through the area to admire different views of the canyon and visit a Tarahumara cave. Continue to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay. DAY 4. DIVISADERO – CHEPE EXPRESS – LOS MOCHIS Today we take the Chepe Express train through the canyons, one of the most spectacular tourist trains in the world (tourist class). The train ventures deep into the mountains, traversing the rugged terrain, passing alongside precipitous cliffs, crossing 86 impressive short and long tunnels, and 37 spectacular bridges spanning rushing rivers. On this journey, you will appreciate the best views of the destination, as well as pass over the highest bridge and through the longest tunnel on the route. Arrival in Los Mochis, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Free time in this city, founded in 1893 by Albert K. Owen, an American engineer, as part of his utopian socialist project known as The Topolobampo Colony. It was located in the heart of a region of high agricultural production driven by sugarcane, which played a crucial role in the city's economic development. Overnight stay. DAY 5. LOS MOCHIS – GUADALAJARA Free time in Los Mochis until your transfer to the airport. We include your flight to Guadalajara, transfer to your hotel, and free time. Guadalajara is the capital of the state of Jalisco, a colonial city and the birthplace of Mariachis and Tequila. Overnight stay. DAY 6. GUADALAJARA In the morning, we include a visit to Guadalajara, a modern metropolis with its colonial historic center, cathedral, market, and Plaza Tapatía. We will visit the Hospicio Cabañas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the visit, we will depart for the nearby town of Tequila. We include entrance to the Mundo Cuervo distillery to learn about the production process of the famous Mexican spirit (entrance and tasting included). Afterward, there will be time to stroll and have lunch in the picturesque town of Tequila. After lunch, we return to Guadalajara. Overnight stay. DAY 7. GUADALAJARA – GUANAJUATO We travel to the state of Guanajuato. Arrival at midday. In the afternoon, we include a visit to this beautiful university city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its steep slopes, narrow streets, and churches. We also include a funicular ride to admire the view from El Pípila. Overnight stay. DAY 8. GUANAJUATO – DOLORES HIDALGO – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE – QUERÉTARO We'll travel through the mountains to Dolores Hidalgo, the birthplace of Mexican independence. Afterward, we'll visit the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, known as the Sanctuary of God and Country, also a World Heritage Site (sometimes we won't be able to visit the interior due to retreats). Next, we'll visit San Miguel de Allende, a beautiful World Heritage city with colonial architecture and cobblestone streets. Free time to stroll. Later, we'll arrive in Querétaro, with its stunning colonial center, main square, and lively restaurants and pedestrian streets. Overnight stay. DAY 9. QUERÉTARO – TULA – PUEBLA We'll depart for Tula, including a visit and entrance to its archaeological site, the ancient capital of the Toltecs. Its main attraction is the Atlantes, imposing four-meter-tall warrior figures. In addition, pyramids, palaces, and carved columns reflect the sophistication of this pre-Hispanic civilization. Arrival in Puebla, a historic city known for its culinary traditions, colonial architecture, and ceramics. Highlights include its grand Renaissance cathedral and bustling main square. Overnight in this vibrant city. Accommodation. DAY 10. PUEBLA – OAXACA We travel to the state of Oaxaca, crossing mountainous regions with beautiful landscapes. Arrival in Oaxaca in the late morning. Included visit to this World Heritage city of Aztec origin with its impressive monumental heritage. We ascend to the Monte Albán archaeological site, perched on a 400-meter mountain overlooking the Valley of Oaxaca—entrance and visit included—the grandest of the Zapotec cities. Return to Oaxaca. Free time to continue enjoying the city. Accommodation. DAY 11. OAXACA – SAN PABLO VILLA DE MITLA – TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ We depart early. Brief stop in SAN PABLO VILLA DE MITLA, a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town). Time for a stroll past the 16th-century Church of San Pablo and its charming rustic streets. We continue our route through the mountains of Oaxaca towards the Isthmus. Lunch is included en route. In the late afternoon, we arrive in TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ, the capital of the state of Chiapas. Overnight stay. DAY 12. TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ – SUMIDERO CANYON – CHIAPA DE CORZO – ZINACANTÁN – SAN JUAN DE CHAMULA – SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS We explore the SUMIDERO CANYON, where we navigate by boat through this impressive canyon, almost 1 km deep and 14 km long. Next, a stroll through Chiapa de Corzo, a colonial town steeped in tradition and culture. Then we delve into Mayan culture, exploring beautiful villages inhabited by the Tzotzil people. In Zinacantán, we can admire the traditional dresses worn by the women, as well as their small weaving workshops. In San Juan Chamula, we will be amazed by its church, which blends Christianity with pre-Columbian traditions in its rituals. We continue to San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Free afternoon in this beautiful colonial city, founded in 1528. Overnight stay. DAY 13. SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS – MEXICO CITY Transfer from San Cristóbal to Tuxtla Gutiérrez Airport for your flight (included) to Mexico City. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 14. MEXICO CITY Today we explore Mexico City and the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan (entrance included), located 40 km from the capital. After breakfast, we begin our tour by visiting the Plaza of the Three Cultures, where the past and present intertwine. From there, we continue to the impressive archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, where we will visit the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the Citadel, and the Avenue of the Dead. We will also visit a local artisan center. On our return to the city, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patron Saint of the Americas. Return to the hotel and the rest of the day is free. Overnight stay. DAY 15. MEXICO CITY – HOME CITY After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home, if this service has been booked through us.
